Treat Yourself To: An Anti-Inflammatory Facial Steam

Do you remember how amazing you felt after treating yourself to a sauna? The benefits of herbal facial steam include refreshing and detoxing your skin, as well as the mental health benefits of slowing down too. 

This herbal steam is one of our favorite anti inflammatory recipes. It is particularly effective because it features lavender, rose petals and chamomile, which work synergistically to clean your pores and calm inflammation. It works beautifully for all skin types to open pores and fight inflammation. It's also a great way to improve dry skin.

Lavender is soothing, helps you to relax and has powerful anti inflammatory properties. Rose Petals are both anti-bacterial and great for blemishes and acne as they help in reducing inflammation. Chamomile is rejuvenating and even know for helping to reduce dark spots and scars.

What You'll Need:

  • 1/2 tbsp lavender
  • 1/2 tbsp rose petals
  • 1/2 tbsp chamomile
  • 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil
  • Large glass or stainless steel bowl
  • Towel 

Directions:

  1. Place the lavender, rose petals, chamomile and essential oil into your bowl
  2. Fill the bowl with freshly boiled water
  3. Place your face above the bowl and place the towel over your head
  4. Breathe deeply and enjoy the steam for 10-15 minutes

Tips:

  • Wash your face beforehand for a deep pore cleanse. We like this natural deep cleansing oil from Amaki Skincare.
  • Let the water cool slightly if you're sensitive to heat
